Restaurant O Summertime

We loved our lunch here with the homely feel & good food. It's run by a husband & wife team, the wife running a friendly sevice & the husband doing the cooking. We nicknamed him the "whistling chef". I recommend the octopus salad. It's worth a visit!

Perfect place If you went in Marseille for some days. Delicious food , perfect price , bet service. For sure I will come back in this place again P.S. The owner of the restaurant makes you feel like you are eating at home

Nous sommes allés déjeuner à cause des critiques positives sur ce site et nous n'avons pas été déçus ! J'ai eu un délicieux poulet au curry et mon petit ami a pris l'agneau et le couscous. Le vin local était délicieux et la dame qui nous a servi était vraiment adorable. Je recommanderais fortement cet endroit.

Dans une petite rue du quartier historique "Le Panier", à proximité du musée du Mucem et avec un accès rapide à la mer, mais à l'écart de l'agitation des rues, un petit refuge cosy où l'on se sent vraiment comme chez soi, avec des invités merveilleux et même un petit canapé pour prendre une entrée ou un café. Les repas changent tous les jours et sont tout simplement frais et délicieux. Même si le choix est limité, la variété des goûts - poisson, viande ou végétarien - en offre plus qu'on ne pourrait le deviner (la dernière fois que j'y suis allé, j'ai mangé un aïoli traditionnel). Les petits déjeuners semblent également très attrayants. Et c'est vraiment abordable.

I'm happy to have visited this cozy restaurant with good food and music! I also liked the owners and their friendly and welcoming way of hosting their visitors.

I had picked out this restaurant to try before we'd even left for the airport but it took quite a while for us to get around to finding it as its off the beaten track to say the least. We arrived at 1130 and were told that the menu consisted of only 2 items. duck with potato & carrot mash and green beans. Or... Fish with potato & carrot mash and green beans...So, we ordered one of each. Despite the lack of choice the food was amazing! Both of us cleaned our plates entirely, even using the bread given to mop up every last juicy drop!The owner was lovely and helpful and you could very much tell that they cared about their food, but it was a shame that only two dishes were offered at that time of day. Also deserts were limited and my chosen chocolate fondant was also unavailable. Still, all in all, it was a great tasty meal and a place we'd go back to again.

Despite setting out from our hotel specifically to find this little side-street restaurant, we almost walked right past it. Very unassuming exterior with a colourful and pleasantly-decorated dining room inside, we arrived right after the breakfast hour had ended and before the kitchen had begun preparing lunch. Fortunately for us, the owner and a young man working there - possibly a member of her family - described what they planned to make for lunch as best they could in English and got started early for us! It was well worth the wait for them to finish their lunch prep - we received a mixed plate of Mediterranean-influenced dishes - two crepe-like pastries filled with spinach and feta as well as a very fragrant minced meat filling. There was also a small salad, a small cold dish of simple pasta with tomatoes and olives, and a warm vegetable stew. The other plate we were served was a simple spaghetti with olive oil and beautifully seasoned prawns. They were so fresh and perfectly cooked. We never would have found this place if it hadn't been so well reviewed on TripAdvisor and I'm telling you - if you're going to be spending any time in or around Le Panier, you have to try Restaurant O Summertime! They had an extensive breakfast menu up on the wall that seemed to cater to UK and North American tastes and I wish we could have stuck around to find out what they planned to serve for dinner that night! I would go back in a heartbeat. We weren't told the price of the meal until we had finished eating, but for our two entrees and two iced teas it was about 22 euros - well worth it!
