I went to this restaurant for dinner, as my friend and I were visiting the Loire Castles region this summer. The dishes are full of surprising flavours and very well presented. Here, you can enjoy the Loire regional cuisine made to perfection.I strongly recommend it for anyone who wants fantastic food with a feeling of authentic terroir dining experience. We both had the 41 euros Menu. For starter I had the Pumpkin soup with pan-fried good liver and cured ham, which was perfect for a late summer night. I was surprised how well the flavours merged, it was definitely a brand new experience for my taste buds! For the main dish, I had the Beuschelle (Vol au Vent), a typical dish from the area. A hearty dish for meat lovers, and once again perfect for the seasonal. As to the desserts, they were splendid. They looked amazing, and tasted even better :) One of the two chefs has a long experience as a Patissier, and it shows!

Very disappointed with the place. We had 3 mains to choose from in total, and 2 out of 3 dishes were either too creamy (the clam) or too sweet (the duck parmentier). Portions were very small and uninspiring. In the clam dish, the qinoa was overcooked. A brasserie could have done a much better job overall, for the same price. One of the appetizers, the goose liver, came in the tiniest portions i have seen, 4 super small slices in a huge plate. Totally useless. What could have been good inspiration ended up a big failure. On the pluses: service was friendly, although quite clueless, and dishes were nicely presented, what it did not fool anyone. Head towards azay le rideau next time for better and more authentic restaurants (ps: their website also does not work...)

The restaurant is situated a little distance away from the main tourist destinations - ~Chinon, Langeais, Azay le Rideau but it is well worth a visit. Have been there three times and each time have had an exceptional meal using local produce and wines. Food is beautifully presented, delicately seasoned and delicious. Service is friendly and professional. Décor is minimal but it is the food that counts and it speaks for itself. Highly recommended.
