Le Parc

Quel plaisir de retrouver ce délicieux restaurant – la vue à travers le parc est toujours aussi splendide, le service toujours exemplaire avec une attention sans faille aux plus petits détails et la cuisine inventive, créative et, bien entendu, parfaitement soignée. On a visiblement profité de la longue pause sanitaire pour effectuer des travaux d’agencement, tout à fait réussis. Bravo!

Même si nous n'avions pas de réservation, nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis dans ce charmant restaurant donnant sur la Seine. Notre serveur était très accommodant avec notre français limité et a expliqué tous les éléments du menu. Nous avons tous les deux eu le plat spécial de trois plats... un excellent rapport qualité-prix et une cuisine délicieuse... même un cadeau d'adieu du chef ! Dîner décontracté avec une cuisine délicieuse.

A little gem recommended by our hostess at the Duck House in Saint Wandrille, run by the young couple Evy and Arnaud Genty who put care and attention to a menu built around local producers and prepared with love. We choose the menu Escapade at 31 Euros and Escale at 19.70 Euros, very reasonable compared to British prices. We had dinner in mid-week and profited of a quiet time when we could enjoy a prime view over the river Seine that run at the bottom of the property. It was a relaying and enjoyable evening.

This restaurant was not our first choice but because it was Mother's Day here in France many of our first choices were already booked. My husband found this restaurant and we had Mother's Day Lunch there along with my son. It is a nice restaurant but a tiny bit rough around the edges. Overall we enjoyed our meal. I had the cocotte for my starter but my egg was hard boiled but it was still tasty as it had bits of foie gras in it. My main dish was lamb and that was pretty good. My husband had the faux filet in a sauce and I prefered his dish. The side was a melange of vegetables and I thought that they were a bit bland. A few things that we noticed: When we were walking up from the bottom there is an area under the trees that is a big mess and it looks like people just throw things there. Chairs, etc. The room that we were in had one table with white plastic garden chairs. I understand that it was Mother's Day and they probably had to add extra tables but for the price that you pay for your meal I think that they could do better. We waited quite a while for the wine menu, we were almost done with our starter by the time we got the menu. We didn't realize that the waitress had served us the wrong wine until after we were drinking it but that was really no big deal. Like I said overall we enjoyed our meal and I would definitely try this restaurant again!

Dans un endroit merveilleux, un château avec vue sur la nature jusqu'à la Seine, un très petit restaurant (jusqu'à 16 places) évidemment familial a proposé un dîner qui était non seulement excellent en termes de goût, d'idées et de performances, mais aussi à un prix prix incroyable : moins de 20 € pour trois plats (plus 2 amuse-bouche mais sans boissons). Visité vraisemblablement principalement par la population locale, le restaurant était néanmoins élégant et en phase avec l'ambiance. Le personnel du restaurant était familier et sympathique (ne vous attendez pas à un professionnalisme parfait). Malheureusement, le Canard Rouennaise nécessite une commande à l'avance. Mais le suprême de canard a pansé la déception. Le cuisinier doit être passionné pour satisfaire ses convives. Tout ce qui nous a été présenté était à notre entière satisfaction, y compris la facture. C'est un restaurant que nous reviendrons clairement, mais la prochaine fois avec du canard pré-commandé.

I submitted a positive review some time ago. Since then, I have enjoyed lunch at Le Parc twice a week, and am still enchanted. I really cannot understand how anyone could find the cuisine mediocre: it's inventive, beautifully displayed, and if you take the trouble to ask, the personnel will give you a detailed inventory of what's on the plate. And it's delicious.

Le Parc restaurant is about 500m from the centre of Duclair but only a stones throw from our b&b. They not only offer tasty food at reasonable prices but also panoramic views over the Seine which at sunset rivals the food. All our dishes were very good particularly the duck, but this has to be expected in the duck capital of France. Mme Genty was a charming and attentive host as was our waiter who relayed questions about Australia from the unseen kitchen staff for us to answer. They were interested in our kangaroos while we asked them about their famous Duclair duck. A nice cultural exchange. All in all a very pleasant evening.
