Jadis et Gourmande

We went there for dinner and we had a great evening. It felt like home. Good service and good food. Nothing fancy but it was tasty.

We took a break in between the 5 Christmas market strolling by having a coffee and a cake at Jadis et Gourmande. It is located around the no 3/4 market in a corner house. From the outside it looks quite small but they have quite some tables inside. We were there 30 min before closing, thus they served only coffee and cakes. We tried the apple and plum cake served in large portions. Service was good.

While at the Christmas market, we had a little snack break at Jadis et Gourmande. We had hot chocolates, a cappuccino, one apple pie slice and one apple strudel. The portions were huge and delicious. The cappuccino and hot chocolates were good but not extraordinary. The staff was friendly. Overall, it was a very good experience and we would go again.

Jadis was recommended by our B&B hostess. We made reservations for lunch ( I recommend you make a reservation ). We had a very pleasant server who helped us with translating the menu. We had the quiche and swordfish salad . Both were excellent. We sat outside in the sun and watched the world go by as we ate

Sadly, my trip to Colmar was not what I had wished for, because my experience in this restaurant messed everything up pretty much. We got served by a rude lady, who seemed to be the owner and took our order of two plates to share without objection (or so it seemed).To our surprise, they brought four servings of our first option, and when we told her that we had only ordered one, she said that plates couldn't be shared. Why didn't she tell us in the first place? Sadly, there are places who still do not care about customers and would rather make money out of two extra plates. I thought scamming at tourists was over since internet existed. Go spend your money somewhere else. Food will be better tasting too.Ps. The only "star" goes to the nice young assistant who, we could tell, felt bad for our experience.

Wonderful place, very cozy! Very very nice food, very nice service and prices are quite correct. The desserts are wonderful !! I will go back again !

We wanted to have some food on the 3rd May. The place was not busy at that time at about 11am. A staff or owner was writing something on the blackboard, the day's special, I guess. We sat at a table and she came to get order. She was not friendly, but okay up until that time. We learned that they don't serve 'food', but only 'drink'. She emphasised with loud voice, off hand attitude that 'JUST drink, NO food'. We left the place thinking 'what? no food at a cafe?'. Later, we passed the place and saw people having food, then, my husband said obviously what she meant was that we were too early for lunch. It is shame that she couldn't explain that in a little bit of courtesy, but showed her attitude as if 'We don't want you to eat here!"
